Downpipe Questions?

I was wondering, (am new to moding) but whats the point of a downpipe, any HP gain and ect. Do they void warranty? Do they fit on stock exhaust? Whats the O2 simulator and the use for it? Does a downpipe work with the JB3 or do u need something to help it work with it?
Thanks in advance

Downpipes free up some horsepower, we typically quote 20-30hp, but have seen dynos with quite a bit more. Our 3" downpipes mate to the stock exhaust. We carry the BMS o2 sims, and also the JB3. JB3s LOVE downpipes, just like any other tune

+1 for AR downpipes I got mine installed yesterday and they rock. You WILL feel the gain. Any mod can be suspect for warranty. It will depend on the dealer. I will take my car in to a dealer that specializes in performance modifications. You can bet that there will be a handful of Dinan stage 2 customers with DP's

The factory downpipes are very restrictive so aftermarket versions are larger and are freer flowing than the standard OEM units. Removing the cats helps improve flow further although you do need an O2 simulator to prevent the check engine light. They are fully compatible with the JB3 tune and JB3 has built in maps to take advantage of the improved flow from a downpipe.

I am running the Riss Racing downpipes and have had substantial gains along with an exhaust and ECU tune. I highly recommend them if you want to improve performance and get the added benefit of a deeper tone.

i ordered my DPs from VK Motorsports. they recently had a group buy for a real good price. if u search VK motorsports or downpipes u might still be able to tag on. But one thing i can tell u is im not putting on my DPs until i get an intercooler. FMIC and an oil cooler are my next mods, and soon as someone makes a high capacity radiator thats next. The biggest issue with these cars isnt flow of air. Its cooling and fuel.
