LED Number Plate Lamps

I have come across the following LED Number Plate Lights on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...:X:RTQ:GB:1123

they are only £15 for a pair which seems good. Has anyone bought from this seller. Or bought them from anywhere else?

I contacted him with regards to their quality in terms of brightness and whiteness compared to the OEM LEDs. This was his reply which i found a little strange.

"Hi all bmws even the newer ones come fitted with halogen yellow lamps in the number plate non have white lights, they are after market and have been fitted by their owners, my car is 09 plate and the 530 I had prior to that was 57 plate and it did not come with white number plate lights. Our listing shows the kind of effect you will achieve, you will not be dissapointed these are bright xenon white."

My 09 plate car has the LED type lights - all LCi models defo have 'em

I think you will have to fit a resistor to increase the current drawn, else the car will throw up a blown bulb warning.

EDIT - I see these already have the resistor built in - give em a try!

Personally I'd get the set from SSDD motorsport as they come with a warranty and are confirmed not to throw any engine codes...

I mean that and the guy doesn't even know what the standard units are in a car hes selling aftermarket parts for? Doesn't fill me with confidence..

They are double the price from SSDD. These also come with 6 months warranty. It also says they will not throw any errors.

For £15 give it a go. However I did but some LED fog light bulbs which said no errors...... guess what......after they flashed on and off with the system check pulses they threw up errors. Sold 'em on ebay for more than I paid

On the first pic is that like a before on the right and an after on the left? Only one side looks bright.

and after import costs etc I would guess SSDD prices are still cheaper? But prove me wrong As I'm in the market..

Yes, it's a comparison picture with our LED License Plate Light. The price more be more, but it's a direct hosing change, not bulbs change.

We also have matching Courtesy/Footwell Light that matches the License Plate Light.

I sent a PM pricing your way.

Eric =)

Maybe I am missing the point why would you want to make your Number plate be seen even more! I can understand all the other lights like door handle ones!

You don't need a group buy to save. I'll do a special pricing including shipping for UK only. No need to wait for group buy list to fill up before you get the lights either. It will be shipped right away and NO ERROR GUARANTEED.

Please PM if interested.

I'll take that back dont know if its coinsidence but the day after one of my tail lights went out (not replaced yet) Then yesterday my wife called me to tell me a new warning had come up. Its a picture of a car on a car lift in red.

The book states

Shows Red:
Starter Failed or Ignition malfunction; Engine restart only possible when brake is depressed

Lighting system failed; low beam headlights/ rear lights and brake lights still operational; all other lights failed

As there is nothing wrong with my car starting im guessing its something to do with those led bulbs only thing is i refitted the original number plate bulbs and the warning sign still comes on

Am i gonna have to go to the dealers to have this reset????
