When you use rid use of the Run flats.........
and use conventional tires, how do you change the flat tire?
I understand the E60 donut tire in the trunk, but what about jacking the car up to change the tire? Does the Jack from the e60 also fit? Are there jacking points (holes) to use the jack? In a few months I have to decide a direction and like the e92 more and more! But hate RFT's!!!!!! I'd like to run an all season tire on a sport package car and no RFT in the 18 size. What do you guys do? |

Have you ever changed a tire before? Same thing applies to this car.
Since the car was designed for RF's you'll typically need to purchase a spare from the dealer, etc if you want to be prepared in the event of a flat. Other than that you could call BMW Assist, but by the time they get there you probably could already be on the road.... |

I just ordered the spare kit from Tischer BMW. I'm probably going to go with conventional tires when I sell my less than 200 mile RE050's that are in the For Sale wheel section.. |

You can buy one of those cans with the foam to seal holes in your tires. They work well, but you should get the tire fixed asap after you used a can like that since they need to clean the inside of the tire.
I mean this:

The problem is where to put the spare tire if you do plan on running non RFTs because there is absolutely no where to put it without making it stick out like a sore thumb lol.

Here's a pic of someone's setup with the BMW cargo net. I don't need much trunk space, anyway. The 335 is not a everyday used vehicle. |

Can anyone confirm that they have changed a tire on the e90-1-2 with a jack that they carried in the trunk? |

There is an OEM solution for storing a space saver spare in the E90 sedan. I have never seen it but it will be fitted to my car which should be here in about 4 weeks. It raises the floor of the trunk so the space is reduced.
Part number is: 51-47-2-146-913 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...=51&fg=95&hl=4 |

You can try and see if the club bag fits across the back of the trunk. You can also PM SGCoupe on e90post.com and ask. It's his trunk pic. |

guys,
great info! Is there a factory jack that one can carry in the trunk that would actually work? Do all markets have 3 series with runflats?? Foget BMW assist, a person sometimes has to change a tire and keep moving!!! |

I haven't had the jack out yet, but I will have a look at it soon and get some pics. I prefer to leave my car at the standard ZSP height because I don't want to reduce the clearance.

It seems SCCoupe's solution actually takes up less space than the OEM solution posted.
John01 what was the price for that complete set-up? What is the price for just the spare? |
