Opinion needed: e92 Tint -15% or 35%?
Hello folks!
I just picked up my '09 328xi coupe - Space Grey, Black Dakota Leather interior. This car is replacing my '06 e90. Now on my old e90, I had 20% tints all around and I thought that was the perfect blend. Unfortunately, my tint shop said they no longer carried the 20% anymore. So now my choices are 15%, 35%, or some combination of the two. I think 15% all around is a little too dark and makes me a prime target for cops on the low side of their ticket giving quota for the month. But I also think that 35% may be a bit too light? So here are my choices: - 15% all around - 35% all around - 35% on the doors; 15% on the rear quarters & rear window - 35% on the doors & rear quarters; 15% on the rear window only Any thoughts guys? What do you have? Thanks! Last edited by DaRickSta81; 06-30-2009 at 08:42 PM.. |

20% looks good on my black on black e90 but the back window is quite dark at night. |

15% FTW, dont get the two diff tints, its looks horrible IMO, get the same all around, that being said, its your car, you have to live with it. My friends 35% looks good but not dark enough for me.

The best combo you could ask for with an E92 (IMO) is 35% on all side windows (left and right) with 20% rear. This is what I run on my E92 and I couldn't be happier. Reason being, when its really dark or raining/snowing out, you can still see perfectly out of all the windows, but from the outside, people have a much harder time seeing in and the car looks much stealthier and darker. Also, with the rear window being a bit darker, it automatically darkens up the little rear side passenger windows and gives a very cool transition effect. Good luck!

I always go with one stage past the legal limit. That way you can argue it with a cop if need be. However after having a possibly precancerous mole removed a few years back I got my doc to write me a note stating I need a darker tint for health reasons do to an increased risk of melanoma... Always pays to be friends with your doctor haha.

I love it! 35% is a little bit too light but 20% is too dark...
