that's really low mileage.. it's a good car. but keep in mind it's 2009 depending on the year of the car. you have either 2 months-1year of free maintance and warranty left.

The 330i is awesome. The 3-series wagons are awesome. Can't go wrong with either. Just be sure to get a CPO for peace of mind and a manual transmission for the full Ultimate Driving experience. X-drive is pretty cool, too, but you may not need it in CAL.

Wagon has lower gearing and shorter rear diff. The wagon came in 325 only and 328 later. Many people like the wagon, and I think it looks great myself.

I have a 330i with Sport and Manual. In Denver, I'm still seeing low mile CPO examples asking $28k. If you can, try to pick one up CPO. For max/min price, you'll need to do some research for your local market. KBB is traditionally really high and doesn't always reflect realistic sales pricing. If you know an auto broker, they can pull auto auction comps for you, similar to when you buy a home and your Agent Broker pulls recent sold comps. I'd also check autotrader.com and cars.com for your zip code and see what similar cars with low mileage are asking.

had a 06 330i before getting a new 09 335i m-sport
Here are a few particular things I didn't like about it: the idrive and Navi is frustrating slow. It could take >5 minutes for it to bootup and finish calculating the navi routes & direction. Downshift to 2nd gear just before the car stop (auto), and this often makes the car jerks forward again just as it is about to come to a complete stop. Brakes feel "sticky" (something to do with the soft-stop feature i suppose) Comfortable ride but doesn't feel "sporty" when you are driving it especially compared the 335i m-sport. (the 330i I had didn't have sport package) The car has an excellent, nice and smooth NA engine tho. Can't help you on pricing. |

I love mine. There's no shortage of love around here for the E90 330i: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=179839
That said, options matter. Pick a car with the sport package, pick one with manual transmission if you like MT. Options can make all the difference in the world. The 2006 iDrive is the same as the 07 and 08 models except without traffic info on the 06 nav system. FWIW, my iDrive doesn't take long at all to boot up (maybe 15-30 seconds) and calculates routes quickly. A friend's 07 335i takes far longer to calculate routes, so maybe it's luck of the draw, who knows. Lagginess, while occasional, is completely liveable. Like using a Windoze computer, you get used to it. You'd have to get an 09 to get the new iDrive, and it doesn't sound like that's an option. Also - my new car warranty won't expire for another year, but mine is a 6/06 build. They started building them almost a year earlier, so yours may be an earlier build. Always a good idea to buy CPO if you can (6 yr/100K mi warranty). Best of luck. From time to time, I've thought about buying a new car, but my 330i has been such a great DD and still feels as good as new, I find it difficult to justify looking at anything else.
