E90 Forum / E92 Forum seperation

I don't know if this has been asked before but I think we might want to seperate E92 / E90 forum?

I see too many E92 stuff(e92 pics in photo forum, e92 topics in general forum). Not that I dislike reading them(actually enjoying them for now), but sometimes I want to solely read about E90s and its a hassle to go through all the E92 threads. I know I know, not a big deal. E90/E92 shares near identical information for most of the stuff, but generally, coupe/sedan people do their own things.

So far I have no problem with it, but as more E92ers join in near future, we might have over-populated General Forum. This might not be a problem for less-populated or small forums, but the new E/3 series BMW community is huge. Its already huge right now. Kind of like how G35 forum seperated, from one general forum to Coupe / Sedan forums. Leaving all the current threads as E90 forum, any new E92 materials to be added to E92 forum.

something like that. just a suggestion!

Well, we can separate the forums, but the E-93 is coming out next month. Do you think we should have a forum for that model too. Seriously, I think there are too many common problems to separate the forums, ie. most of the E-9 vehicles have similiar interiors, sound systems, and other accessories.

i don't think separation would be a good idea. i think E90post is about the newest generation 3-series, and the coupe is only a 2-door version of the sedan that happened to come out a year later after the sedan. you could argue that ///M3 should be discussed here by the same argument, but we can all agree that ///M is a whole new class of vehicles.

I have same thinking as you. Let's separate the forum.
- E90/E91
- E92/E93

It may be a good idea, at least to have the photo forum separated.

It will happen once site owners think there are enough E92 owners to have their own forum.

Same theory goes to many other forums, and like the example I posted above, G35 coupe/sedan shares just as much as the 3 series. Actually, 3 series sedan and 3 series coupe is COMPLETELY different if you read the thread about 3-series coupe originally made for 4 series line up.

Part of what makes this forum great is the large volume of members that share information on all vehicles.

If we try to seperate the forum....you will lose a large portion of members...new members.

The reason why this forum is loaded with E92 items...is not so much that the E92 is new. But that there has been almost nothing new with the E90. So if you seperate...the E92 will flourish, until it hits its plateau. Then it will be flooded with E93 items, then M3 items, etc. The E90 forum will likely just become stagnant and riddled with pure threads about immigration and Iraq.

Good opinion. I definitely agree.
Though, many of you think im suggesting this for now. My suggestion was really for later. This forum is growing rapidly, and at this rate, its just matter of time until general forum moves so fast that you'll miss so many things. Like honda-tech.com for example. I was simply suggesting an idea for upcoming traffic condition later down the road.

Man, I hope I don't look like an evil revolutionist or anything, trying to seperate E90/E92 crowds. thats not my intention.

Theres no reason to separate the two forums, its already been discussed ( http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29033 ), but basicly they are the same car, the only major difference between the cars is external appearance. The things most of us talk about (technical details) are shared between the two cars, so its stupid to lop-off half brains involved in any given discussion. If things ever got to the point that it was too crowded we might consider separating things on some level, but for the most part things are going well, we have good discussions, tons of info is being shared, news, etc..
