27,011 miles

7/20/09 UPDATE

It was not infact the fuel pump that broke...looks like injector #1 is shot. They are doing that install now and seeing if that fixes the problem.

27k and COUNTING for the fuel pump

fuel pump blew on my way to work today. It was fun while it lasted

that sux... i am actually worried a little.. there was an instance where my engine took 5 seconds to start just 2 days ago!!!

only happened once, and havent happened since..

I was wondering if it was because I pushed the "engine start" button too lightly..

a firm push on the button since then had given me no scare...

hope mine lasts for awhile as it is just pain in azz to get it back to dealer.

my car started acting a little strange about a month ago...

extended crank here and there (nothing serious..maybe 1.5-2 seconds TOPS), but sometimes it would also start w/ half a crank almost like a cam'd LSx motor

Today as I was driving it started bucking thru all gears (almost felt like my clutch was slipping). Few miles down the road CEL/SES.

Had enough juice left to get to work and its in the service bay now waiting to get taken apart

damn........ I guess no long trips for me for now then........?

BMW does cover the roadside tow truck right? just in case I get stranded in NJ or something....

PS. I'm due for a 15000 mile service in about 1 month (I'm at 12500 miles now), think they will replace the pump for me on site without my actually having the problem right now?

Dude I think we should start putting dates of HPFP failures in our signatures from now on. The more times they fail, the more props you get.
