I inquired of Easton Town Center by email last week, about their willingness and interest to host us, and there's been no response. Such delay tends to say something.
I checked the calendar at Young's Dairy in Yellow Springs, and they'd be available. They just hosted their annual PT Cruiser drive-in, so I know they're amenable. We'd be a bigger group, but they just mow a larger part of a field! Oct 10 is the semi-annual Yellow Springs Street Fair, which is a HUGE deal, and brings lots of traffic to Young's. Not sure if that would help us or hinder us. I frankly prefer to do our meets on Sundays. Did you see the pics from the NJ meet the day after ours at The Greene? Careful, they'll drive you nuts: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=281846 Bet we could interest Kelly BMW to host us (across the street from Easton Town Center, Columbus). What's your pleasure? |

Greybeard, that is awesome that you have started to look into these things. I did think the following Saturday would work out nicely, but not sure if it does? Since we are thinking again about Dayton or Columbus, let's make sure that there are no major football conflicts that weekend. I think it should be October 17th. My Bearcats play that Thursday and Ohio State plays out of town at Purdue, so it would be a better draw and less comptetion for us. Timing is never perfect for everyone, but as long as we think about the majority, it should all work out. Greybeard, you are out of town on the 17th of October? Damn...looks like the 17th won't work then. Well the 10th works for me, but Ohio State has a home game, which you will loose a lot of people for that, not too mention it is the weekend right after BMW Oktoberfest 2009 in ATL so that will hurt us as well. I guarantee you that if we have it at least a week or so after Oktoberfest we can get some more people and more vendors, not too mention more publicity.
We really need to put some thought into the location and date, and come up with some great ideas. Easton would be great if they would call you back. Ian did say that he could get a company with a beer truck...maybe a festival type day with music, food, beer, etc. Saturdays work better for most I would think, since we would have people coming in from Indy, Cleveland, Cincy, Pittsburgh, etc. The festival idea does lead into many other issues, with liquor licensing, budgets for music, etc. But with all of that said, if we can use connections (Ian) in or around Dayton to secure space, provide power, we could porbably make this a true festival, very easily, only around our cars! I say we plan a meeting with all of the brain trust on an upcoming evening and determine some of these things. Let's see what works for everyone and plan a planning meeting time and spot, in Cincy or Dayton or in between sometime soon. Thoughts? Cheers ![]() Todd

I think West Chester or somewhere around the Dayton Mall, etc area. would work well. That sounds good Greybeard...are people available on a Thurday evening, say around 7pm? Get a bite to eat, a few drinks, discuss everything and divy up duties?
Cheers ![]() Todd

Oh and as far as the event date goes...Oct 11 would be much better for me because Oct 10 is the AFRL Dining Out which is a huge formal dinner for us military types which I am planning so I will definitly be covered up.
