Spelling numbered streets using voice

When entering the street portion of the address by using voice in navigation, it asks for you to spell the street. If the street is a numbered street, like 39th Street, I find it impossible to "spell" the street name. I've tried saying THREE NINE and T-H-R-E-E, but to no avail. Has anybody figured this out?

I haven't had the need to try the voice recognition with a numbered street. I'll have to give it a try. I would assume that "three-nine" would be the right way. Maybe you can be creative. Try saying "Larry Csonka."
