Phone System Lagging Actual Production

I spent the day on many of the threads bitching about how I didn't have a VIN or production date even though I ordered my 335 on July 31st. Others were reporting start of production. OC is worthless but the phone is supposed to be better. It was reporting set for production with no confirmed production date. Finally, I held for customer service (about 10 seconds) and they told me production started today and the car is set to be complete on September 6. If you are waiting for a VIN and production date and thought you should have it already, you might want to call and wait for customer service. They were very friendly and helpful. Just and FYI.

I got my production number on 7/28 and it is still awaiting a specific production date...it is slated for week 36 which is next week...do you know if you were week 35?

I never knew my week for production. My dealer never gave me that. The phone system is still telling me that no date was set. Did you try speaking to a person? It sounds like everyone who placed their orders are going into production. It's changing by the hour these days. Keep calling... I know what you're feeling. Imagine my surprise when the customer service agent said my car was already in production. I hope you get the same pleasant surprise

No biggie...it is what it is...I won't change it...

This is my third ordered BMW so I'm used to the waits...

My 335i was supposed to start production the week of September 4. However, both OC and the BMW "hotline" report it today as "in production scheduled to be completed by September 9". So I guess they were pretty accurate with the initial estimate. I hope that helps.

My 328i e90 is scheduled to be completed September 9 as well.
