Intake question?

I've read around and I'm confused. It seems that some intakes give more power at higher rpms and lose power at lower rpms. then there are intakes that gain power at lower rpms and lose power at higher rpm. then there are just intakes that supposedly lose power all together.

so the question is what is the best intake out there for under $500?

well it really depends what you are looking for sound power or both...

we now carry S&b Drop in filters which will give about the same Hp gain as most intake systems out there when combined with a front ram scoop.

If some extra ponies and sound is what you are looking for I would go with either the Injen or Afe intakes.

I also have a 06 330i. I really like my Injen intake. It did add some quicker throttle response. It's strange but after a week it began to run better. Right after I installed it all I noticed was the great sound it gives. You can really hear it around 3500 RPM's. It's fairly cheap I purchased mine from E92 Lighting.

I don't care for sound, I want pure performance gains.

There is a power drop on Injen intake around 3k, but if your going WOT from stand still your in that dip range for less than one second, then your hitting your new gears above that rpm range
