FS: E90 OEM CF Mtech rear diffuser (for non-335) - Local GTA pickup only
*** SOLD ***
*** $150.00 CAD - Local GTA pick up only *** (Retails new for ~$1000 in GTA dealerships) I am selling a used OEM (Part No. 51120404941) carbon fiber (CF) single-exhaust diffuser trim piece that fits onto the pre-LCI E90 Mtech (or 'M Aerodynamic') NON-335 rear bumper. The item was pre-installed on a used E90 Mtech rear that I acquired from another forum member back in June 2009. The previous owner had the diffuser for only a few months, and originally purchased it from Tischer. I am now re-selling the OEM CF diffuser because I recently swapped out the diffuser for a different CF one. The OEM CF diffuser is in excellent condition, with only a few minor scratches that are barely visible upon close inspection (see red circle in pic below). Installation of the OEM CF diffuser is straight forward, and for reference I have posted a DIY that shows how I uninstalled it from my vehicle at http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=278959. The diffuser is secured in place by various tabs, 7 screws and 4 cotter pins (no extra adhesive tape or anything was used for the bumper that I got from the previous owner). For the install, you may either try to get a set of 4 new cotter pins yourself from Home Depot or something, or you can just re-use the original ones that I removed from my Mtech bumper. (I will include the old cotter pins with the diffuser shipment.) Note that since the item is an OEM part, there should be NO fitment issues with installing this diffuser on your pre-LCI E90 Mtech bumper. Thanks for your interest! I've never seen any posts where someone has tried to cut the OEM CF single-exhaust diffuser to accommodate quads. When viewed from behind, the diffuser is definitely symmetrical except for the hole on the left hand side for the single exhaust, so I suppose that in theory one could just cut out a second hole on the right hand side and call it a day.
But if you've ever seen the MSRP on this thing, I don't think you'd want to take a chance and start cutting to find out later that the diffuser gets messed up in the process... (e.g. frayed edges, uneven cutting, etc.) |

In order to install this particular diffuser, you will need to replace your entire OEM e90 323i rear bumper with the M-tech (also known as 'M Aerodynamic' / 'M-sport') rear bumper. So the short answer is... "Yes."
