Unlocking car over cell phone???

>If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are home, call someone
>at home on your cell phone and ask them to get your car keys.
>
>Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the other
>person at home press the unlock button on your keys while holding it near
>the phone on their end.
>
>Your car will unlock. It will save someone from having to drive your keys
>to you.
>
>Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can
>reach someone who has the remote" for your car, you can unlock the doors
>(or the trunk this way!)

Hahaha!
Next thing we'll be hearing about will be 'very' comfort access- just get the person on the other end of the phone to just hold the key near the mobile, with your mobile near your car, & voila, an unlocked & driveable car! Hahaha! Will you need to carry on with the call whilst dring the car though?! Hahahaha!

there is a HUGE difference between sound and a radio frequency

thats like saying, put some tin foil on your ear and you will be able to listen to the radio

Your car will unlock. It will save someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the remote" for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk this way!)

The whole story is silly...Try locking your keys in your e90. (Have a spare with you). See if it will lock....... Surprised? Now try locking it in the trunk.

Why am i even reading this. Ok, I have 2 fob but my car does not have CA. I put 1 fob in the car. I stand outside the car with the 2nd fob, pressed the lock button and the doors locks. Does that answer your question?

I lost my keys the other day & called my wife on the cell. She hung up, then got my other fob & while holding it she concentrated really hard & imagined she was standing next to my car.

Then bingo. The doors unlocked.
