water in the car - anyone had such case
I own my E91 since 2007 and first time I have this problem.
After I washed my car I noticed that driver's floor close to the door is wet. I thought I took the water inside my car with my shoes however it happend again. I noticed that water comes down inside the car between rubber on the door and rubber on the edge of the car. I do not know if the rubber is to stiff already or what but I need to fix it before the winter. Water comes in even I wash it using not much pressure. Anyone had such case...

Yeah, I had something like this happen with mine. It was the front windshield leaking in water. Mine shorted out my AC. Total cost $1300. I'm guessing it is the seal around the door or maybe the window? I'd get it fixed quick. Water inside = moldy evil and can ruin electronics.

Thanks for the inforamtion.
I will check it and will work on it. I've once had problems with water in my previous car so I know how bad it can be.

Had a similar problem. I noticed my driver floor and driver's side back seat floor was getting wet after washes and rain. Mainly the backseat floor. I was still under warranty and it took the dealer close to a week to solve the problem.
Although they could not pinpoint where exactly the water was coming in from, they replaced the following things. First started with vapor barrier. When they performed multiple water tests, it still would seep in some how. Then, they replaced all seals and reset the sunroof and that managed to work. So far so good! |

Guys I have checked it today again.
Water comes into my car by rubber on the door. It seems that the rubber on the door, close to the drivers mirror is not to tight adjoing the body and the water is running down the rubber and than inside the car. Strange is that I had no accident or any other thing done to my car. It has just started some days ago and that's it. I think I'm gonna visit my dealer but I am already afraid of stories they make up trying to solve the prob...

Just to help some others in the future...
So in my case water inside the car has nothing to do with all previously mentioned things. The weak point is window's outern gasket/rubber from the driver's door. During the weekend was fighting this thing and noticed that water comes in just from behind the upholstering. When I took it off I saw lot of water runing down the window's metal fence, electrical cables and others. I saw that water comes in as the outern gasket/rubber does not well adjoin the window. Today I went to my dealer and I've ordered new one and it appeared that BMW changed the gasket/rubber in all 3 series after 2008. Seems that someting is/was wrong with it. I will change the parts today and will inform if all has been solved out.
