BMW's hard paint?
How hard is the BMW paint?
I've tried several different products trying to get rid of any hairline scratches and it seems no matter what I've used there are some still there. For example, I'ved tried Zaino Z-PC with porter cable 7424 and orange pad. Klasse AIO and orange pad. I've even tried PoorBoys SSR3 yellow pad and it made no difference???? I don't get. Is it possible my pads are bad? They are several years old. Thanks for any help |

caradd the scratch maybe entirely too deep for the scratch to be removed. A finger nail test is usually a good indicator. If you fingernail catches on the scratch it is most likely too deep and the best you can do is to take the corners off so it's less visible.

I have the same problem on my 330i. The clear must be hard as nails. Orange pad, PC, Optimum Compund and even Hyper Compound or Polish which usually takes everything off my Jap cars and nothing on the BMW. They do come out but it takes a long, long time for me. My pads are brand new too.

They are not deep enough to feel with a fingernail, just about the size of swirlmarks but not in a full circular shape. |

My experience is that it is not hard but extraordinarily soft. You can induce marring from just soft wipes with microfiber. I have fought this a lot already.

Well on my paint, nothing no marring, no scratch removal, just made the paint a little more shiny... it's crazy. What car do you have? |

This thread must not apply to Jet Black. You can cause marring by just looking at it, or so it seems.
