oh god... not his again. ancient thread on this...
the N52 engine (whaich is what the 330 /325 has) is designed to vary its temp A LOT depending on driing conditions. BMW left off the temp gauge because it would probably drive people, and therefore their SA's, crazy. No temp gauge. No need for one.

There is a temp guage on E90/E92 335i right in the instrument cluster. It replaces the mpg guage.

BMW is one of the few automakers to still utilize this at-the-moment technology. So yes...the mpg gauge was a very important factor when I opted for the 330i....6mt...with sport package.... and especially when I... 1) added 18mm spacers to the back wheels (RE, baby!) 2) blacked out my grilles 3) enabled rear foglights (shout-out to Brian Lay) 4) ordered rear power outlets (thanks again, Calvino) 5) installed short-shifter 6) installed blacklines 7) installed Hamman-type eyelids 8) painted my calipers 9) changed my roundels to CF 10) wash/wax my car every 2 weeks

the mpg gauge is often knocked by people who are new to the brand
l like the feature and would/do miss it (would miss it on other cars/do miss it on my Z4) it's a BMW thing, not sure how usefull it is, but it's part of what makes a BMW a BMW |

This is my first BMW, though my wife got her X5 2 years earlier. I have learned to appreciate what makes BMW BMW. The gauges, the orange dash lights, the roundel. Part of that appreciation comes from this forum, and the tips we share with each other, etc. I would seriously miss the gauge... its just something I have fun looking at at times.
