Bumper hell!!! And Matte Black Grille Fitted
Ok so I washed and polished my car about 3 weeks ago now and it looked awesome. However today I cleaned it and saw literally hundreds of little paint chips all over the front end and hood. I have been aware of these but since the polish have been made to look 100x worse.
Is there anything I can do to easilly remove the residue that's in there now like a spray or anything (residue is white)?? It's been especially hot and I hadn't washed the car since the polish. Makes the car front end (on one side) look especially bad. I'm looking into buying a body kit in the future, however I don't want this shi* making my car look waste since the rest of it looks brand new and glossy. Here's a pic of the atrocity: And my grille fitted today which I'm pleased with Last edited by SiKkBaSs; 08-08-2009 at 12:57 PM.. |

What polish did you use? I'd think that'd be a job for T-Cut (pref the colour match) then a different type of polish to seal it in.

Yeah, thats it!! I think the bumper requires a rub down and paint.
Mine is the same dude. bmw paint is rubbish. UK roads full of grit etc.

The paint on the new beemas is really thin so I think we're all going to have to visit the body shop at some point, I'd still give it a try with T-Cut though it's worked wonders for mine in the past!

I just have the black coloured TCut (only about a fiver from halfords) then a clear polish (there's loads about) & I reckon it would look better but still it looks like it would need to visit a body shop. I had my bumper rubbed down & resprayed on my 04 E46 in 2007 which cost me £125 (cash) for a top job from a lad I know, no doubt bmw would be more?!

Guess I'm going to have to live with it for a while til I decide on whether to get a rub down and paint or just fork out on that bodykit.

I used this on my car all the time - interlagos blue and it works really good. Must be something else you have done to your car.

my car is exactly the same. Quite glad ypu posted that pic makes me feel a bit better!
I had a quote for £120 for strip down and paint. Think ill wait for a while. Out of interest did your grill come from BMW? Was thinking of one but would probably get it painted |

should never ever use t-cut, its very old school and far far to abrasive, especially for regular use. Get yourself on detailingworld.co.uk, theres plenty of advise about decent proucts on there, and are alot of experts that will help you out.

£200 for a bumper paint is very cheap esp in the Home Counties/London.
