Tire Sensor Indicator Light
I searched the forum and could find an answer, so I am sorry if this has been discussed. I just bought my first BMW yesterday, hence the bad photo, and it was brought to my attention when I replaced the tires that someone had taken out the sensors for the Tire Pressure. Obviously the indicator light is on... without replacing the sensors, is there a way to turn the light off? Thank you in advance for your help.

Since your car is a 2006 it uses an indirect flat tire monitor system. Every time you put new tires on the car or change tire pressure you need to reset the FTM (flat tire monitor). This is routine and actually there is a little sticker on the door jamb of the drivers side that tells you this. Nothing to worry about at all. Tom |

Our 2006's are unique in that the car actually uses the ABS system and it monitoring of tire revolutions to calculate if the tire pressure has changed. When you make even the slightest change this system will go off. The good news is you don't have to worry about sensors in the tires. Congrats on the new car. You'll never want to drive anything else.
