Edmunds' rendition of BMW Sports Car Concept (or whatever it may be)

Last week we brought you photos of a BMW concept vehicle. It was speculated that this was the BMW Sports Car Concept set to appear at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. There have since been some conflicting reports which state that this concept car spotted was an older concept model put together for design study purposes. We will find out for sure when the Frankfurt show rolls around in a few weeks, but for now, Edmunds continues to believe that this concept car will indeed appear at Frankfurt. They have also posted these new artist renditions of this concept car, whatever it may be

i thought this was suppose to be a coupe...the sedan renderings are all horrible imo...wonder what the real thing is going to look like, whether its gonna be fabric or metal

+1 or why they continue to call this a sports car concept. Typical sports car possesses characteristics such as 2 door, mid-engine and light weight. This looks like another 6 series which is considered as luxury cruiser like the Mercedes CLS.

The confusion is caused by BMW PR continuing to compare it against Audi R8 and Ferrari 468 Italia when it is really in the category of CLS and Porsche Panamera.

i think that those things on the bumpers/side skirts/ rear are NOT going to be on the actual car in frankfurt auto show, i think BMW just added those for either some kind of protection, to cover something up or just to fool the media. (you gotta understand that BMW wouldn't send that vehicle half uncovered to that place and think that no one would take pictures.) they probably are looking through the posts right now and looking at different peoples opinions and WHAT IT looks like to the average BMW buyer.

But as for now i will still stick with my original statement and say that thats a 3 series GT.

The upturned grille is a feature that will becoming to series production cars beginning with the 1er Coupe and Z2 models , but the final version is better executed than in this image. As the bars in the kidney grille remain upright and do not follow the shape of the upturned kidney grille.
