E92 Black Kidney Grilles

Just priced black grilles through bmw performance $150 each one
Looked overseas at bimmian.com and there price for very good quality ones is $148 for both and $110 for shipping and brokerage costs
= $233 arrived in australia.
My question is any body know any company's in australian that have these grilles.

$300 from bmw is a bit rich.

Gary,

I'd try aftermarket. A great vendor is JBSPEED on here, I think they are 80usd shipped, or if you go to the aussie classified section here, William (nightrain) has a brand new set for sale.

I love the chrome on the silver and space grey, but I suspect you are right that black would look better on the montego, especially since you have the black lines down the sides

There's always ebay.. $82.99AUD shipped seems about the best price on there. It may be risky, but I would think most of them originate from the same source in taiwan anyway (with the possible exception of the OEM ones).

Some importers saying the kidney grilles are made of ABS PLASTIC AND ABS POLYMER Can anybody tell me the difference between the two.

I forgot about my bmw club discount so instead of $300 now $270.
Still deciding and looking at LED angel eyes as well. white or blue.

I think polymer is just a fancy word for plastic, so good chance they are the same mate?

When you say LED angel eyes, do you mean opening the light up and fitting new rings or just swapping the bulb so you go from yellow to white like mine? If you mean the later, there is a vedor on here, E92-Lighting that sells the bulbs for $30us shipped.

Should probably warn you... once you go down the mod track, it's all over... cut up the visa card while you still can!! Speaking of which, have you considered a carbon fibre rear diffuser??

That's what i can't figure out these led is just the bulbs but high power ones
and the bulbs you are mentioning are they high power leds or normal.
Should of discuss with you on sunday's cruise $184 aud

http://www.bimmian.com/92/LHU/

I looked at carbon fibre grilles but looked a bit odd being only one thing carbon fibre you would have to buy mirrors and other bits to match.

All of these LED angel eye kits are simply just the bulbs that replace the halogen bulb which lights up the rings. They are just plug and play. The only replacement ring that are comprised of multiple LED's throughout the whole ring are Built and Designed by OSS and are about $499.95USD + S/H

You two hav both lost me a bit.

I thought the LED kits were mainly for cars that don't have angel eyes from factory. Unless you really had cash to burn and wanted to rip out the E92 angels and replace them with LED's.

Gary, your current angel eyes are the same as mine, except I replaced the bulb in mine to a white colour bulb (the stock are yellow). Did you see mine, not sure if that's what you mean and are trying to do?

Unfortunately the bulbs are hard to find for some reason, so I ordered them from a vendor here. They are 35w and the same as OEM, except you can choose either 7,500kelvin or 8,500kelvin. I have the 7,500 as they are a little whiter and brighter than the 8,500, whereas the 8,500 is slightly blue. I think stock is around 4,500k (yellow)

I've been told by a vendor that the cf grills eventually peel from heat. I suppose this is unfortunately true, considering he sells them.

Just checked that link - not entirely sure what those ones are. Here's what I am talking about, the GP THUNDER H8 35w bulb, http://www.e92-lighting.com/ There is also a kit I have seen that changes the wiring to supply higher voltage to the angel eye bulbs to make them brighter. I drew the line at just replacing the $15 bulbs

Ahhh ok, looks like you can either replace the bulbs like I did, or go all out and replace the bulbs with a unit that contains LED's instead, as they are brighter and a nice colour. They cost a lot more than the plain 7500 bulb though but seem to illuminate the entire ring a bit better http://www.e92-lighting.com/products...0_E82-5-0.html

I just took a snap of mine for you. It looks like the light inside the inside ring is on, but it's just my crappy point and shoot camera. Not easy taking a photo of a light

You should be able to get a set for 30us shipped or 2 for 45 if anyone else wants one

Gee they look very nice Jarrad.

I wonder if it is the bulbs for my LCI sedan and my X5?

I will look into it.

Gary, was that for two boxes because each box has 2 bulbs and you only need 2 bulbs per car to do the angels? Here's the DIY... a bit fiddly with big hands. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ighlight=angel

Sam, that link was the LED rings for E90's, etc. The vendor is on here, so I'm sure he could advise on LCI. These are the ones we ordered http://www.e92-lighting.com/products...ITE-43-16.html

The 8,500k compared to the 7,500k are slightly blue, but are unfortunately not as bright, so they don't make the best DRL.
