Dealer Recommendations
Hi Guys/Gals,
My E92 is due for a Vehicle Check and Oil Service, I've given a few stealers a ring, and just a little apprehensive about it after speaking to some of them as some clearly do not have a clue. I live in Bristol, but work near Heathrow so can arrange my car to be serviced in these locations. Can anyone recommend a decent stealer to take it to...it need to be a stealer as I need some warrenty work done as the i-drive/parking sensor monitor sometimes hangs, rattles and need my clutch checked out. It also needs to be "bring your own oil" friendly . I am tempted with Stratestone Taplow as the service guy seemed very helpful. However, in the past taken I've taken it to Wellsway in Bath. However, having spoke to the service guy there this time, I am a bit worried about the place as he did not have a clue, first I was quoted £70 if i brought my own oil, then £220, now £140 so not impressed. Oh, anyone know how much oil I need to bring too Cheers, |

There have been some threads bemoaning the after-sales and service from Dick Lovett so you may want to avoid them.
A bit further north from Bristol is Cotswold, who have always done my cars. Though as they have been covered by the service inclusive don't know the attitude on bring your own oil. http://www.cotswoldbmw.co.uk

I use Taplow for warranty issues and Sytners in High Wycombe for service. The Sytner dealer is the biggest BMW dealer in the country and seems to be the most cost conscious.

Not handy but I am extremely pleased with Sytners...
Also heard bad things about Dick Lovett - they were also very slow to respond to my sales equiries. |

Is it only me who finds the name "Dick Lovett" mildly amusing?

for ease of your situation, i would use Cooper Reading. they are a 2 min walk from reading station, which is a 25min train to paddington. the guys at work use them and have had no problems.
FYI Dick Lovett hungerford have always been brilliant for me. Thats also on the main london line, about a 1hr 15min train to paddington after a 5 min walk from the dealers. And LOL at DL, even got a mention on radio 1 last week as cheggers was in there!

Well, I have had a great experience from Dick Lovett in Swindon so far. Sales process was speedy and no-nonense, which is how I like it.
Only service visit so far (for some re-coding and s/w update) was done in a very professional manner, didn't attempt to charge for hire car, and the car was really nicely valeted on pick up. Mind you, my dealer expectations are unbelievably low after years of painful VW ownership, especially with Mann Egerton VW in Swindon Rgs Chris |
