on my car?
noticed whilst having new front brakes fitted! Its attatched to the intercooler!

I can't see a sim holder, so probably not that.
Looks more like the schmoogle.

Carl, if it helps, I've just checked and mine does not have that feature.
Looks like some kind of bracket to hold some pipes/hoses perhaps

On a serious note it is the mounting bracket for the twin intercooler.
Yours doesn't appear to have it Carl. Your car could be a 'parts bin special' when they ran out of the twin 'coolers on the production line.
