After 20 years in the waiting, I've finally ordered my first BMW. For those who are interested I've ordered a:

Today I called the 800 number to learn: "Your vehicle has been released to a carrier and is awaiting transportation to a port of exit."

Ordered 8/28

In production 8/30

Awaiting transport 9/6

Delivery ???

I'm hoping for the Patriot. Elektra is unlikely and the Atlantic Conveyor is a "local". It leaves two days before the Patriot but arrives NYC 3 days later.

OK I couldn't help it. You guys were killing me with your cars being ready. I had an estimated completion date of 9/7, although Customer Relations first reported 9/6 last week. Yesterday the 1-800 number reported in production, but today it finally reported in assembly (having skipped right over bodyshop and paint). I swore I would not call Customer Relations because the damn thing was going to be done tomorrow anyway. But I called. Answer: Car is done was handed over to sales, was handed over to distribution and was on its way to the port as of today. Customer Relations is the only way to go... unless you have access to the dealers system...

I think Patriot is going to be it guys...The Elektra pretty much already left in Germany

I concur. I think we can make the Patriot as far as timing, provided there are not too many cars ahead of us. Seeing as the Patriot can carry more than 5,000 cars I hope this is not a problem. Otherwise I think it will be the Undine. From what I can tell, the Atlantic Conveyor is not normally a car transport.

Your vehicle won't be on the Atlantic Conveyor, it's a RoRo carrier. The Elektra and Patriot are PCTC, or, pure car/truck carriers.

The Elektra is still in Bremerhaven and the Patriot has already left.

Cool Webcam. Thanks. As of yesterday, the Patriot was in the Atlantic heading for Bremerhaven. Should be in the English Channel today. Even if the Electra is there today, it is scheduled to leave today and my car will not be there yet. You are correct about the Atlantic Conveyor. In fact all Atlantic ______ ships are RoRo's and are not used to transport cars. But you helped conform what I thought on this issue.

Thanks for the link Headless...when did your vehicle arrive at the port? My vehicle got there on 9/3. Hope it's on there!!!

I was only released to sales and distribution yesterday. Customer Relations told me that as of this afternoon my car was dispatched to the port, but apparently had not arrived yet. Now I am just hoping for the Patriot.

I'm not sure what you mean, the Elektra is not in that webcam shot.

If you look in the shot I posted earlier you'll see it, in your photo link, it is gone.

Just called BMWNA and it says it was shipped on 9/6???...they wouldn't give me the ship's name...it's gotta be the Elektra...I have to contact my sales repwho has access to all that info. When I spoke to them earlier they said it was awaiting a vessel.
