Request for DIY; Add-on temperature gauge for N52

Here is what we know so far.

Coolant temperature is available through OBD2 and available though hidden menu... after like 50 clicks... not convenient at all.

The BMW Performance wheel offers a display for that data, so it is possible that the wiring is already available in the car.

The choice of a display could be analog-like or digital. A small digital display could be easier to install and to fit in the dash.

Price should be kept to minimum; the 1400$ BMW steering wheel is not the answer.

I am sure that there are plenty of talent here to resolve this and even much more interested to install a temp gauge. TIA.

I guess there is not as much talent as you through, or no one cars enough to figure it out. I bet there is so programing that needs to be done to get this to work.

My solution was buying a scangage for less than 200$.... Bonus... comes with more than expected battery voltage, real vehicle speed .... and with RPM... I barely look at the instrument cluster anymore.

Ive always wanted a temp guage of some sort. Gotta make this happen.
