unhooked battery = xdrive and dsc failed light?

just picked up an 07 335xi friday!

30k miles on the clock

first owner had left some cables in the trunk from a sub n amp

to remove the hot wire i unhooked the battery for a second

next time i start the car i have the triangle with ! in the center and arrow going around it in the center display, with 4x4 under it and the DSC light on.

manual says that means xdrive and dsc have failed?

but after a short drive and a 2nd start all that goes away and i just have a very small yellow triangle with ! in the bottom right corner of the my normal time and temp display

dsc light is still off and can be turned off and on like normal

manual says small yellow triangle means next time the start buttons pushed the car will start without pushing the brake first? but i still have to hold the brake every time i start even though that lights remained on since.

did a few full throttle launches on wet pavement yesterday and as far as i can tell xdrive is working beautifully

anyone had this problem? think i actually have a problem?

or just some wierd glitch from cutting the power?

any help/info much appreciated

looking forward to becoming a regular on these forums, this car is amazing!

This is normal. Anytime you disconnect power all the AWD warnings illuminate. Drive around a bit and they go away, everything is still working properly.

Turn the wheel all the way to the right and then all the way to the left. It will recalibrate and be back in order.

4x4 system and DSC failed

Having just replaced and registered a new battery, I had the error message: "4x4 system and DSC failed" followed by "No DSC specified nominal torque".
Clearing error messages with a "Protool" and restarting would not shift this fault.
Turned steering fully right, the left as suggested above, seemed to remove it. A short run around the block confirmed it was gone.
Happy as. Thanks
