RaceChip Pro on a E90 320d 177Hp LCI 2009

Hi guys. I placed an order last week, and finally got my RaceChip Pro from the company with the same name, in Germany.

Here is the product link from their website.

I was considering back and forward between the Spider-box and this one. It seemed a lot of people returned or sold their Spider-boxes, and complained about this and that. So I eventually bought the RaceChip Pro.

Just my first impressions. The box itself is tiny and very light. Some kind of aluminum casing. The fitting was pretty simple. Off with engine cover, plug it in, attach it to whatever you feel like, and that's pretty much it. I hit the start button, and off for my first test drive. That was pretty disappointing. I didn't feel any difference. I went out on the highway, and I think it might seemed a bit faster in acceleration at higher speeds. So I stopped, opened the box and checked the settings. The box have two switches. I called the hot-line, and they guy gave me "standard-settings" for my car. Setting E on the left, and F on the right. I tested again. Now the car seemed very smooth, and I could clearly feel a difference. I drove about 40-50km on the highway, and every thing worked fine. I did two pit-stops. The first one i knocked the settings two up on the left, and one on the right. And a final pit-stop with one more on the left. Wow! The last stop gave me huge grin, and the car feels more like a benzine car than a diesel. The left switch is now on 2. Max is 8. You have power reserves on all RPM's, and the extra horsepower is very evident around 4000RPM. That's all i had time for tonight. More driving after work tomorrow, more testing, and hopefully even higher settings !!??

I've settled with the switches as in my post. Higher settings gave me 'limp'-mode in some situations. I'm quite have with the gains. You can really feel the extra torque all over, but again you feel the extra horsepower from 3800 to 4200 RPM

Delivery to Bangkok less than a week

thats very high in the revs no ? I already have the feeling i have to really rev the bimmer to get the power, unlike my previous Audi which had a lot of power in the low revs but almost none in the higher.

Hi, old thread i know, but can you tell me in which position you'va placed the jumper? I emailed racechip and they told me that it has a feature for start delay. It meens that the chip starts working after the engine warms up.
