DIY: Autodimming Rearview Mirror - Anyone try?
Has anyone tried to install the autodimming rearview mirror with compas and universal transceiver (Part #51-16-0-304-488)? It is the rearview mirror included in the premium package.
How hard is it to install and does it take any special tools? |

Do you already have autodimming mirrors?
Then it takes 10 min and no special tools needed You basically just remove the side covers on the mirror base, unplug the old mirror, bump it off, click on the new one, plug it in, put the overs back If you dont have autodimming you may need a wiring kit. I havent seen any for the E90 yet, but other BMWs have |

Currently, I don't have the autodimming rearview mirror, but I want to upgrade. On the Pacific BMW website, I found this associated part - Rearview Mirror Retrofit Kit Install (Part #61-31-0-148-128). I presume this is the wiring kit. Do I need to cut or splice any wires, or will it be a simple install?
Thanks in advance. |
