I have purchased some hid fog lights from *******.
He has a black and red wire.
The wires going to the stock fogs are brown and brown/yellow.
Can anyone tell me which one goes to which?

usually solid brown is negative, so I would connect that to the black wire. Give it a try!!

thanks, so i plugged them in and they turn on.
If it were reversed, would it not work at all, or will it work for a little bit until it burns out?
