Newbie product check here

Hi all,

I just picked up a 2007 Alpine White 335i and want to pick up some good supplies to keep it looking good. I've read through the stickies, etc and have loaded up my shopping cart with some supplies. Everything will be done by hand for now, I'll maybe get a orbital later.

P21s wheel gel
Meguiars Wash
Mothers clay bar kit
Klasse All in One
Collinite #845 (is this ok on top of AIO or should I get something else)
303 aerospace for interior
I already have some tire dressing

I've got some good wash mits and microfiber towels and a few buckets already. Any other essentials that I should get?

Well with the clay bar you're going to need a lube/quick detailer. I use Poor Boy's Spray & Wipe. Good to have as a clay lubricant & waterless wash (bugs, bird droppings, etc).

I think that Mother's kit comes with a QD (quick detailer). I have the same kit, got it at walmart.

Your list is a great start. I'd recommend a couple of grit guards for your buckets and a degreaser (such as P21s Total Auto Wash) for bugs and other grime.

And congrats on the new car!

Your list looks good to start. I'll second the Grit Guard suggestion. Don't exert too much pressure on any of your friction efforts i.e. wash mitt, drying towel, clay etc. Very light pressure is all you need and helps reduce any marring that could result from materials or grit.

Coll 845 is fine on top of Klasse AIO.

What you have is a good paint cleaning list. You don't have anything for correcting any paint defects but if it's new you shouldn't have too many anyway. You will get better results with a machine and you mention you might go that route. I'd highly recommend it.

Good luck and have fun getting that new baby shining!
