Rear Fogs/Xenons and JD From Crown
Ok guys,
I asked in the previous thread which part number for the rear fog light switch pertains to my car, is it 61 31 6 932 796 or is it 61 31 6 932 792. Chesmu replied that it was the one ending in 792. By the way, my car is equipped with front fog lights, rain sensor, but NO xenons. I also posed the same question to JD from Crown just to see who would get back to me first. Anyway, here's what he had to say: "According to the catalog your car should use a 61 31 6 932 792, but this would take awhile to get since it would have to come from Germany (7 to 10 business days). I have the 796’s in stock (the ones for Xenon/Rain/Fog). I’ve sold over 40 of these and they were all the 796 number, I find it hard to believe out of 40 orders there wasn’t at least one or two in there that did not have Xenon’s as well. I would think the 796 which is in stock would work, but like I said the Catalog says it should be the 792. I bet if you posted on E90post asking in the subject field, how many have ordered the switch who don’t have Xenon’s, you would get a more definitive answer. But according to my sources the only one listed to work would be the 792. Let me know what you want to do. JD Ross Crown BMW Dealer Code 21607 3902 West Wendover Ave Greensboro, NC 27407 Phone (336) 323-3911 Fax (336) 323-3851" So our question is this: of those of you who have ordered the switch ending with 796, how many of you have xenons? If you don't have xenons, how did you know which one to choose and does the switch still work? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks guys and thanks JD!

I would go with JD's recommendation. He did confirm this (the multiple part numbers for different lights) with us early on when people were just starting to order. So far the guys who ordered (according to my observation) all have xenons equipped...GL
