Winter runflats
I also posted this in the Tire/Wheels section, but thought I'd get some thoughts from fellow New Englanders.
How many seasons can you get out of a set of winter runflats (e.g. Blizzaks) My understanding is that they wear out faster than non-runflats. Is this true? Also, do these have the tendency to bubble along the sidewalls as well? (I just got my first bubble on the front passenger side just from rubbing up against the curb on my OEM sets) Thank you. |

I have an XI, and I've gotten 3 full years (plus an extra couple of months this fall before I pull them off) out of my Pirelli snow runflats. I've gotten 3 years out of my non-runflat summer tires (Goodyear F1s), as well. Can't help you with the bubbling question...don't have any reason to ever do curb parking.

3 years sounds about right. But it all depends on how often you drive it in the snow, because it will wear out much quicker on dry pavement.
When the season is over, swap out the snow tires at early as possible. |
