for an e90 or e92? I have set of 16" BMW steelies with Blizzak RFTs that will fit an e90.

335's require 17" minimum

Thanks, but 18" is way too low profile, I don't like the idea of 17's, but that's the best we can fit in a 335

Not sure how bad the snow is in Ottawa vs the GTA, but I had way better traction with 18s and snow tires than on the stock 17s with all seasons - 18s are not that bad at all...

Always use a higher profile and narrower tire in winter, 205's on 16's would likely be the best, but you need 17's on 335's due to the brake size, so 205/17's are the best for snow and ice.
225's and up have too wide contact patch, bad in snow. 18" rims have too much of a low profile, hit a pothole at -30 deg and your' hear "crack" and you'll be hitchhiking home
