Idrive Hack - anything

Hi guys,

I am a newbie here, so please be gentle.

I was wondering whether their was any cool hacks for the Idrive, not sure what maybe some of you could let me know if you know of anything. Obviously I know of the normal stuff like rear view camera and using the screen as a dvd player, but is their anything else?

With the assistance of your phone for a connection via bluetooth surely their must be some cool stuff you can do with it.

look forward to hearing from you guys.

thanks

I didn't bother with the microwave conversion. I went with the gas cooker conversion.

I bet you have an iPhone?

And no, no hacks, no way of making it anything other than a pointless, ugly, clunky piece of junk!

Wait until the timer is about to expire then engage reverse and back up to a wall. Simples.

Yes there is a hack type thing you can do. Can't remember off the top of my head what you do but I remember is only works on Gen 1 i-Drives because on the of things you need to do is select "Up and left" at the same time.

Found it: http://e90.wetpaint.com/page/iDrive+hidden+menus

You can also buy a BMW gadget that goes under your stearing column and connects to your iDrive. You can use it to connect all sorts of USB/Video/Audio inputs and control it all from the iDrive.

You can open up an extra menu in the idrive, it's not very exciting though, just shows some service related codes, there's a link on how too, over on one of the US forums.
