Just secured a purchase... fees?
Hi everyone
I just purchased a 325i yesterday and I was curious if anyone could shed some light on dealer fees for me. (I did a search but didn't find any charges similar to mine in the results I ran into). Most importantly, I'm curious about a $299 Processing fee for consumer services which the sales guy said is a VA state requirement. Is this true ?? Any help will be appreciated |

Yep, it's a required fee for ALL dealers in VA (Lexus, etc). The MD fee is only ~$92, so it may worth your while buying on this side of the state line unless they gave you a sweet deal.

cheers for the response. The only reason I went with Sterling BMW is because the sales person was very honest and quick to respond to everything I had to ask him. Guy at VOB dicked me around (actually telling me he was unable to respond to me because he was "busy") and Tischer was ball park same price out the door as Sterling. That's not to say Sterling was better than Tischer - I felt comfortable dealing with both dealers.
Car ended up being $31,280 (involice price) with Tax, Title, Registration, Dealer License Tax and was $33,500 OTD. Only options on the car are auto tranny + heated seats. Is that a good price? It was $380 higher than VOB but I was very comfortable with this salesperson and the slightly higher price felt justified for how comfortable I felt through negotiations. Encryption,
I went to Fairfax BMW. I bought the 335i Sedan and will pick it up hopefully this friday. I will be paying $199 for the fees. How's yours different? Am I leaving out anything? |

Encryption: You didn't give Passport a try? Their processing fee was $100 and they included the mats (with full tank, keychains, valve stems) for that. There were no other BS fees aside for the $200 DAG ad fees.
To put it into perspective, my OTD price was $33,800 and change and I ordered the step, met paint, xenons, PDC and satellite radio. CA even threw in the exhaust tips. Well at the end of the day it doesn't matter, if you're happy with the deal and the CA, then awesome. Congrats on your new ride btw. Don't forget to sign up at our DC metro E90 registry (details/links as per my signature panel). Hope to see you soon at an upcoming meet/event.

Definitely will post pics. Hopefully it's everything we hoped for. I do think the dual exhausts look a little wimpy...the tips should be slightly larger in diameter. Other than that...a pair of blackline makes up for it.
