Inexpensive XM Solution
For about $70 (XM radio with car kit and sunglass holder) you can have an XM radio that looks good in the car. The XM radio is the sportscaster model with car kit and remote which is about $40 at walmart and the sunglass holder $30 from Circle BMW delivered. The radio's amber color works great with the amber lights of the dash (one of the reasons I even got it).

This is not really that new,,,see this thread on finer points of the install, and particularly page 3 for the final setup.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...t=16587&page=1 This setup works great. I have a night picture on my home computer I can post tomorrrow. The orange lighting matches the BMW orange perfect - looks like it was meant to be there.

The price is at the very top before the pictures: $40 for the radio and $30 for the sunglass holder delivered from Circle BMW. I used the old ashtray's cig lighter to connect the power and stowed it under the dash and ran a wire to the aux input in the center console. Drilled a couple of holes in the sunglass holder and ran the cables through it. Ran the antenna cable to the back lid and placed it on the center baby seat clip (the magnet holds on to the metal pretty solid). By the way the XM turns off as the car turns off and turns back on when the car is turned on since power to the cig lighter goes out as the car is off. Also, I used the 2 sided black tape that came with the radio to stick it in the holder. Very simple to do and very cost effective. There is a thread on how to replace the cig lighter with the sunglass holder (removing the center console). I personally didn't want to spend $800 quoted by BMW of Sterling and Arlington to install the sirius radio, I just think thats too expensive.

I did it a few weeks ago now and I tell you what it works wonders. In that other thread I showed how to run that antenna cord from the front back to the shark fin piece
Ha, just realized how old this one was
