Taillight conversion? E90 -> E92
I realize these aren't nissian 240sx's... HOWEVER. I'm merely complimenting the e92 which is the same car as the e90. This isn't quite like putting skyline lights on a delsol
![]() What I'd like to see is the MECHANICAL barriers preventing this conversion because the coupe tails are just IMO so much better. What do you guys think? E90 or E92 they are BOTH 335's... and its not like its trying to be a poser and make my car look like a better, faster car.. Its the same thing but with a personal preference change. What do you all think? If my poll options aren't quite what you are thinking, just post it here ![]() PS. Can someone do a photochop for me? EDIT: Sadly it appears this car is located in arizona... just put some blackline tail lights and it'll make a huge difference compared to the stock lights.

IMO the stock tails are as pretty as oprah's asshole but if you just simply add some tint or buy a set of blacklines (like i did) it makes a nice aggresive look i personaly like the E90 rear better than the e92.

I'm pretty sure, it's possible, but it's not worth it. People who don't know about BMW's won't care, and people who know about BMW's will point and laugh. Just trade it in for an LCI E90.. IMO that's better looking than the current E92.

I don't know if it's possible because you would need to swap out the trunk (which might be doable) and the side parts (good luck).

I still think the E92 taillights would look sick on the E90. Someone do a photoshop please? Or will I have to whip out paint?! ![]() Last edited by klipseracer; 10-05-2009 at 08:48 PM.. |

The light profile is different on the e90 and e92 such that swapping lights would require swapping the rear quarter panels (that piece of metal that stretches from the tail light over the rear wheel well and up along the roofline down the A-pillar). EXCEPT that a direct swap between the two is impossible due to the different roof lines.
In other words, any hope of making this work would involve a custom fabricated rear quarter panel (or at least modifications to the stock one) and this can get expensive very quickly. And remember, this is just the quarter panel. Now onto the trunk... The e92 and e90 trunks are NOT interchangeable. More custom work will be needed here. Then you are onto mounting points and wiring and I have no idea how compatible these are so I wont assume. Though its an interesting idea, no matter how you go about this, it wont be cost effective IMO |
