Painting Only Left & Right Lower Meshes

Hey guys,

For my 335i E92, do you think it will look weird/strange if I only paint the lower left & right grills black? I want to keep the center lower mesh the stock gray color. The reason is (1) I don't want to accidentally paint the intercooler and (2) puts more emphasis on the intercooler. Is this a good idea or just dumb? Ricey?

Thanks

Thanks Prowess, I will paint the lower center mesh.

One more question - has anyone removed entirely the front left and right meshes? I don't have an oil cooler.. and the ducts simply lead to the brakes. Removing them looks better than painting them black, and I will have slightly more airflow into the brakes. The M3 also doesn't have meshes for the brake ducts. What do you guys think? Should I take them out?

I will leave the center mesh to protect the intercooler.

Technically yes. I was thinking if I were just to remove it, I will push to snap the grill loose, then find some way to take it out (cutting it if necessary).

Easier and better than painting I think.
Cool.. How did you pull them out without taking off the bumper? Where did you buy the black ones?

The hardest part is fitting the side grilles in, but its doable. The middle grille is real easy. Much easier then painting or taking the bumper off.
I thought the black ones for 328 don't have holes, do you not have an oil cooler?

Thanks for all the replies guys.

As for the 328i side meshes, they don't have any holes at all? Even if your 335i doesn't have an oil cooler (neither does mine), I thought that there are holes as brake ducts to cool down the brakes?
