OP, are you going to lease again or purchase ? Check and see if they have pull ahead program. You can lock in the rate now if you have the best deal. Time - end of year, economy etc - work in your favor now.

They might forgive your next couple of months to get you into a new car today. Start scouting inventory, if there's something you like out there it's worth talking to your SA to see what he can do.
Either that, or get the numbers nailed down and order placed for the new one if you're custom ordering it.

Most of the time they will cover your last few payments as incentive to get you to sign the papers that day.
Also, the earlier you start decided the less decisions that you will regret after signing the papers :P (Happens with most things i buy) |

If you are ordering a car to be built, you need to be in there between now and the end of the month since it typically takes 8 weeks. Get a good deal and order it. You will need a $500 deposit.
You can lock in October's rates which are here: http://bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=402851 and if they improve befroe delivery, you can use those instead. You will not need a security deposit, nor will you pay a disposition fee so you should get your original deposit back. Good luck getting them to eat a payment or two. It's never happened for me. If you time it right, the new one should come in just before your lease is over. If not, BMWFS will allow you to lease month to month for up to 6 months if you have a car on order but... you have to call and tell them. If you don't, you will be seeing the repo man in your driveway. I extended my last lease two months since the car was built in SA and took forever to get to NJ.

Similar situation, my lease is up in January, just wondering if anyone has used the points from a BMW Visa to pay for mileage overages or charges or anything like that. I have a small ding, probably smaller than a dime that I just noticed, I asked about it and they told me that would be looked at when I turned the car in. Anyone use points on their card for end of lease stuff? Just wondering if it would be worth fixing now, are they going to ask for eleventy billion points to fix it or is it something they are going to barely worry about.
Thanks All,

No need to speculate on the buyout amount, it's right in your lease contract, or you can get it off of the BMW website. You dealer may or may not offer you a better price, the CPO market is hot and the buyout pricing structure has changed. Finance wise you can either go on your own through your own lender, or see if BMWFS has any financing specials that would apply if your car was CPOed. You will pay extra for that reconditioning/warranty of course. Strategy wise, when my lease is up I will let them know that I plan to turn the car in, that I have no interest in leasing another BMW, and that I might consider a buyout depending on the numbers (with the CPO certification, no way in hell would I own a twin-turbo BMW without a warranty). Your dealer isn't going to offer you a good deal if he knows you've already decided to buy the car out, you need to make them work for your business. Even if you do if the dealer needs inventory and/or you have a car that's in a saleable color and options they may not budge on the buyout amount, it all depends on the circumstances. Anyway, good luck with things. |
