No, its so you know where the steering wheel is angled, F430s come with that.

FAQ Post, before they're all 'frequently asked':

1. Yes, the wheel is all alcantara(I'm holding it in my hand right now). If you've seen pictures of this wheel with partial alcantara, you're confusing it with the Electronic version of the BMW Performance Steering Wheel - also on special here on our site.

2. Yes, it is available for both manual and steptronic(or DCT) transmission-equipped vehicles - and your paddles(either way) will transfer over to this wheel.

3. No, the yellow stripe on the top is not packing tape - it's actually stitched into the wheel itself, indicating center on the wheel(a la Porsche 911 GT3 style).

4. Yes, your sport airbag/multifunction buttons/lower trim will transfer over to this wheel. If you don't have a sport wheel, PM Evan or I and we'll help you find what you need in order to retrofit. As Evan stated above, Multifunction alcantara leather trim sold separately (add 32300430403 to your cart if not transfering over sport, M Sport, or M3 trim).

5. No, there won't be a GB special price available for this wheel. This is the absolute lowest price we can offer.

6. No, your credit card will not be charged until the order is here in our possession and is shipping out to you.

7. Yes, this will take at least a few weeks to arrive here from BMW(Germany) - as these are in limited supply right now.

8. Yes, it is thicker than your stock sport wheel.

9. Yes, this ships free via UPS Ground service within the US.

10. No, we cannot ship this wheel internationally.

11. If you're international and want to order this wheel, yes - we'll be happy to ship the order(or any order) to any US shipping address for forwarding(ie. family, friend, E90Poster, etc...).

12. Yes, this wheel is plug and play.

13. No, it does no require programming.

14. Yes, you will lose your heated steering wheel function - if you have that option on the car now.

15. No, I can't think of any others right now - but I can always edit/add later.

its not tape! its material thats sewn into the steering wheel... yes it can be changed but u'll prob have to do it yourself and spend more money on customizing your steering wheel.

Yup, we've had a couple of each (paddle and non-paddle version) come in...but they are going quick!

I don't think a half leather and half alcantara version is going to be offered here in the US on these.....all of the ones we've received have been full alcantara.
