13mph over...come onnnnn

So I was driving my usual route today, and there was a cadillac going 25 in front of me. Naturally I speed up a little to pass him, didn't see the cop hiding behind a tree and he gets me for 48 in a 35. Should I fight this? California PD seem to pull people over for EVERYTHING these days...Sorry for the vent just really pissed off

if the guy is going 25 and you wanted to pass him, you really didnt need to go 48 to pass. especially when the limit is 35

just saying, dont use that as an excuse if you try to fight it

13 doesnt really seem that much (coming from someone who speeds a lot) but when you compare it like 48-35 its a lot

speed limit is the limit... anything over that you're speeding. That's why they post those limits. Can't really fight it. He got you... he's doing his job.

True it does SOUND like a lot when comparing it to the limit which was 35, but this is still not that fast. I'm going to plead not guilty and hope the guy does not show

pretty sure he will go. most officers do, since they get paid to do so. only time they dont show is when they have something really important going on that day, which is rare. so chances he wont show are 1 in a million.

just pay a lawyer to take care of it, shouldnt be too much and itll be off your back.

Look at it this way: You were 37.1 percent OVER the speed limit.

Unless you really want to try, I say just bite the bullet on this one. You got clocked 13 mph over.

most ticket attorneys (at least here) charge between $50-100 for ticket defense. i don't know the laws there, but the best idea is to ask for court for deferred disposition. 90 days without another ticket, they'll dismiss it.

So you're complaining that you got caught for speeding? You sound just like this guy I know: "I was going 40 in a 25 and got a ticket. I can't believe it!" I mean really? That's like saying "oh I didn't mean to punch the guy in the face that hard, they shouldn't press charges on me". Sometimes people just need to get off their high horses and be humbled for once.

it doesn't seem fair to you because i think your thinking a 48 in a 35 seems like a small amount due to speed limit being only 35, but if you think in terms of the speed limit being 65 and your going 78 it seems bigger if that makes any sense....
