Have a 2008 335Xi with sport package and wanted to know if it has the oil cooler factory installed so that I can perform the flash upgrade?

you can also check the front passenger wheel well. You will see the opening on the front of the wheel well for the air flow.

There will also be 2 thick hoses leading from the oil filter housing to the passenger side.

Did it come with 18" wheels? If yes then you have it. If not, then you don't.

I have a 2008 335xi with Sport but it has the 17" (ugly) wheels. I do not have the oil cooler. Are you saying that only the cars with the 18's had the oil cooler?

Old thread...wheels can be changed so its not a good indicator. Check for the vent and extra plumbing descibed above.

I know it doesn't have the oil cooler. Are there XI's out there with the oil cooler? If so, is it only on cars that came with 18's?

Yes, this is what I have always heard. If ordered with 18's, then it has the oil cooler. If ordered without 18's, then no oil cooler.

Sport package I thought was the indicator of an oil cooler on an XI, and it just happened to have the 18'' wheels, 155mph top speed and high performance tires?

Mine doesn't have 18'' wheels on the window sticker, just says Sport Package, and it has what I described above FWIW.

ZSP includes sport seats, sport steering wheel, and better tires.

IIRC...checking the sport package was not the route to getting the aux oil cooler. You also had to check the special summer tire and 18" wheel package which I believe the code was 2AB. Not postive on that one, but I am positive that I have one and that is how mine was ordered.

Im dusting away some cobwebs here but I also believe this election raised the speed limiter to 155.

For the xi you had to spec the sport package AND the 18" wheel package to get the oil cooler. For the i, just the sport package.
