Today I went to the David Copperfield magic show at DPAC. It was amazing to see some of the tricks!Best part was....

I was lucky enough to be part of the "Thirteen" trick where he makes 13 people disappear and reappear elsewhere at the show. I was in the front row in the box and next thing you know I'm in the third floor balcony waving my flashlight at the audience. I can't say how the trick works since I had to sign an agreement, but got to meet Copperfield in the at the end of the show.

Pretty cool that I got to be a part of his trick.

Pretty much there's a ramp that comes from the back and you get off and run to the other location as fast as you can.

There's two version of this trick...one with a stage that has a 360 degree view and mine only had a 180 degree view so i don't know how they got off this one because the stage.

I was also chosen to do this. One of the sides has a mirror that is tilted at 45 degrees. The mirror is dropped as soon as the bench is lifted from the ground. With all the lights and such you can't really see it. Do you remember those small boxes as a kid that were like a piggy bank. you dropped a coin in and because of the tilted mirror you would hear the clank but see nothing fall? it's like that. The flashlights are a single branch type thing with swivels on each lamp. he tells them not to turn them on because they are never used. The stick with all the lamps on swivels is stuck through the hole on the right side and just swung around the way the branch thing works is you can pull it very fast and it collapses. also the guy who swung his hand up and down is told to stay and accept the flashlight. He asks for 18+ because you have to be legal adult and sign a contract afterwards saying you won't tell anyone. I was 17 at the time and thus needed my parents to sign so he told me to just forget it.

I saw this live in Toronto, it's so fake, the only illusion that was "good" was how he had a mustang appear from a wooden box he came out of the show to begin the show with

Asides from that and this trick, it was the kind of entertainment that would only blow kids away...

There's probably a special version with a smaller stage and less distance to cover.
