Mother's Products?
Just curious as to what everyone thinks of Mother's Car Care products? Has anyone used them? and if so what do they like or dislike?

I use Meguiars Products
I have used Mothers wax in the past, but long ago switched to Meguiars for polish, detailer, wheel cleaner. I believe they are superior to all the other products I have used. www.******.com

For consumer products, Mothers is excellent. Their new Reflections and FX lines of car care products are very good and worth a look if you do not want to purchase supplies online.

Thanks for the info, I think I'm gonna give them a try. I've heard good thing's in the past. I'll post some pictures with the finished result. It's that time of year where I wanna get the car looking good and protected for the winter.

They have a good wheel cleaner form ther FX line. Cleans all type of wheels, including polished aluminum. They're spraywax is phenomenal and last about 2-3 weeks. More like a glorified QD. They're tire dressings looks real good, and their synwax rivals NXT.
Give the lineup a chance. |

I generally use Zaino stuff to wash/wax my car, but I also have some Mothers California Gold car wash. It works well. Not quite as foamy or as nice-smelling as the Zaino soap (Mothers smells like soap, Zaino smells like bubble gum), but it foams better than most and works well.

I have been using the Mother's line of waxes for about 15 years now and have been very pleased. My Xterra is 7 years old and the paint looks great other than the dings from wheeling. I have taken it through some tough spots where branches rub against and the Mothers did a fine job protecting, just buff out and rewax and everything looks great. It kept my Jetta looking great as well.
I was going to try Zaino now that I have the 330xi, but I have all of the Mother's products and they have performed well for me. I also love the deep rich colors that the Mothers brings out. I find that the wax holds up fine without doing it every month or two. In the spring I do a complete clean and wax removal and use all 3 steps of the Mother's product (cleaner, sealer and carnuba), including at least 2 coats of the carnuba. In the fall I add another 2 coats of carnuba and that keeps the salt off it for the winter. Anyways, I think you will be pleased with your purchase! Chris |

Mothers is a good over the counter brand i think. Basically it depends on how OCD you want to be with your car. Personally i use Zaino and my looks flawless, but then again its in a garage when i dont drive it, and i spend a lot of time on it. Mothers does a good job at cleaning the paint and giving it a good protection. If your looking for a low cost product then I'd say go for it.
You may also want to try the NXT wax because i beleive that is a little better, and is about as easy to apply as mothers. |
