So Cal dealership for HPFP fix
Any recommendations for a SA in the So Cal area for HPFP failure? Im tired of messing with dumbass SA's that dont know what they are talking about. Just looking for an honest SA that will fix my car.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!! |

Brian Chartier (SA) handled my HPFP failure. He's at BMW of Encinitas (northern San Diego). He knows his stuff; he's knows all about these HPFP failures.

We had Crevier do our 6 or 7 fuel pumps...they also did a turbo replacement IIRC, and replaced all the injectors, right before BMW bought it back, and right after it apparently burned through 2 qts of oil in 2 weeks.
So that means they've got experience replacing at least 6 or 7 HPFP's In all seriousness, having spoke with people at BMW corporate as well as the independent company they use to handle the 'buy-backs', there's really no dealer out there that hasn't done multiple replacements. The problem is so widespread, everybody who works for BMW dealers seem to be 'experts' on 'em. FWIW- the independent inspector that did our buy-back told us the car being bought back the most right now is the 535(what we had). |

BMW ENCINITAS IS A BUNCH OF SCAMMERS AND LIARS.
I had an '02 X5 years ago, and it kept having issues with the self leveling system. It was probably in the shop 6 times in year, and they had it at one point for 2 weeks. They kept resetting it and couldn't find a problem. Towards the end, they even tried to blame me (or the aftermarket head unit) for the problem, when it had the problem recurring for almost a year before hand. Ridiculous... |

Anyone here have experience with Sterling in Newport?
My car fired up and idled very rough this morning, Engine light came on too. No prior symptoms, 3400 miles. I suspect it's a fuel injector issue after reading the board. Had to drive my C63 to work, dang

Was your engine light on and were you able to drive your car after that? I'm thinking of calling Roadside Assistance in the morning to get it flatbedded if possible....

Here's my story if you care to read:
My 07 died on me as i was leaving LAX and about to get on the freeway on Jan 2nd, 2010. Engine shuddered rattled and then died, 1/2 engine symbol popped up, Service Engine Soon light came on, and car died. Had to tow to nearest stealership for check...and this looks like to be my 2nd HPFP replacement, the third pump counting the original that came with the car. Had to tow to South Bay BMW in Torrance, which I highly DO NOT recommend, but since it was the closest dealership around, BMW Roadside Assistance made all the arrangements and I didn't really have a choice. Dealership sux balls, but they did replace the pump within 3 hours. I waited around in their lounge the whole day because of other delays. I guess it took them only 2 hours because they probably had many of the pumps replaced so they had them in stock and ready to go.

BMW of Riverside (Service Advisor John Horgan) did an excellent in handling my BMW. They replaced my HPFP as a precaution and never had any problem with it for 8000 miles.
