cancel order on my 335i coupe?
just spoke to my ca and was told that they don't have a build date yet on my car. i ordered with them last week and put down a 1k deposit, but now they say all build dates for october are gone and i'm waiting for a november production. i don't really wanna wait that long and maybe another dealer can get it sooner for me. can i cancel my order with them and get back my 1k deposit and try to order from another dealer with an open production slot? i really want my car! help pls.

I'd call the other dealers first and casually ask if they have allocations available now if you were to place an order. If so, then look into cancelling the order and getting your deposit back... but before you go that far, you may want to make sure the other dealer will give you the same price, if not better.
Most dealers will give you the deposit back unless it's a really odd combo you ordered that is uncommon and may not be easy to sell. The deposit topic has been discussed before, so do a search for deposit and read up ![]()

yeah, i called other dealers and they had some slots left for an october build date and would match the price. interesting thing is, my main dealer called back and said they had a 335i being delivered to their lot today and it's pretty much everything that i wanted except for navi and a few other options. so now, just waiting on the dealer to call me back and let me know when the car comes in and i'll go and pick it up today! no need to order and no need to wait! ^_^

Think that over. Get the car you want. I don't know how long you keep a car but make sure you're happy with it. Good things come to those who wait.

Those 2 options (Nav/CA) are well worth the wait.

Another dealer can't get you an earlier production , they all get a production sheet that they use that gives the build months, so deal with it...ya waited this long 30 more days aint gonna kill ya

Skipping on the Navi because you want the car earlier is ok by me, but skipping CA you're going to regret it. Wait for the car that you spec'd.
cal99_99: I ordered a car without Navi and did ED too. Besides I have no need for it. If I need directions then I google map it before I go.

so this has been a tired and long process... not to mention, frustrating!!!! i just want my car. the reason i would rather get the car now... is that the lease on my previous car, 02 civic si, was up and i had turned the car back in. so, i'm pretty much carless and will probably stop by rent-a-car here and there. but it's true, i like both the nav/ca. comfort access is pretty important to me. i work in the hospital, sometimes i feel like i'm getting germs all over my car keys. the ca would put at end to that lol. anyways, because i've canceled my order, i was able to finally find a dealer that will go $1,500 over invoice. as opposed to the original dealer that i had placed an order for $1,000 under msrp. so this new dealer that is willing to give me a pretty good discount, has a 335i on the lot, everything i want minus nav/ca again... i'm gonna go take a look, BUT it has 70miles on it. it's either been demo'd or the manager has been driving it home everynight. 70miles seems a lot, plus the fact that i still don't have nav/ca means i'll order it from them. thanks for letting me vent.

The cars don't come out of the dealers allocation unless the ED center runs out of cars. The center can only process a certain amount of deliveries a day,so we normally check by faxing the request for a specific date to pick up,if it's less than 6 weeks, I'll call to find available dates. All dealers are created equal, but they grow differently, and the same goes for CA's even in the same dealership, find one that wants to work for you and help you through the process
