Should I order style 230's for under $1600?

So right now I can order a set of Style 230's for my 335I. I just got a quote from my BMW store. List on these wheels is CRAZY. Some dealers quoted me over $630 for ONE front wheel.. I can get them for $1584 for all 4 through employee pricing but I dont know if I should put that toward an aftermarket set of wheels or get these. I guess its unique becuase they arent production wheels in the states but I still am not sure. What do you think?

They are nice looking wheels but I would rather get a nice set of aftermarket wheels that would reduce weight etc also would be able to replace the RFT. If you wanted to sell the originals or keep em.

Iraxi, slightly offtopic question. Im trying to decide what % tint to get on my Jet Black 335i - how do you like your 35%? I am looking at either 35% or 15% how dark would you say it is?

Can you buy me a set?

The only thing I don't like about them is the resemblance to one of the Porsches wheels and the cost of 19" tires.

At that price it should be a no brainer. If I was in the states and didn't have that deal I’d probably sell my spare kidney to get them.

Save your money and put them towards aftermarket, I'm not to fond of upgrading to OEM wheels. It might look slightly better, but if I wanted a real upgrade I'd go aftermarket and something nice like DPEs, so my vote is to save for aftermarkets

Park 2670 - the width of the back wheel is 9 inches. A 275 would be too wide and look funny - you would need at least a 9.5. Max maybe 265.For this reason I am going aftermarket as suggested by many.

Except thats exactly what the 545/550 runs. 245 front on an 8 inch, and 275 rear on a 9 inch. I have also noticed that you can put a 265 on the stock 8.5 inch.
I learned this today while working on a E60 545i

At that point, why not go for a good set of aftermarket 19's. You can go with a wider width tire on many of those aftermarket setups (I see that as an advantage)...

I know they'd be a unique wheel in the U.S. and that's a great price you have.

You probably don't want to hear this, but....
I've seen them in person several times & it's JMHO but put your $ into aftermarket.

In person the rim/barrel is just too thick looking and makes the wheel look smaller than 19"
I looked at 2 E92s side by side, one with 230s the other 189s.
You really had to look hard to notice any difference between the 18 & 19"

They show off the caliper & rotor well, but I'm also not a fan of the twisted spoke,
especially the way it attaches at the hub
It's interesting at first but after awhile .....mehhh

Sorry for the neg. impressions, but it's JMHO.

Iraxi,

I've been researching this in-depth. European tire they put on the rear wheel is the Bridgestone RE050a 255,30R19 RFT, front 225,35R19 RFT. Bridgestone RE050a's aren't offered in the US. The only other option in RFT is the Pirelli eufori's in the same size.

BTW, I'm in Germany right now and I've seen these rims on a black sapphire mettallic E92 coupe and WOW. They rock. Circle BMW is offering $404 for front and $409 rear staggered (8" and 9" widths respectively).

Think you can get the same deal on one more set? It could save me $150...

Hope this helps.
