Seafoam
Anyone in the Kendall area familiar with 'seafoaming' the 335i? Introducing the seafoam via the intake? I am a bit paranoid and would like to find someonewith experiance who might give me a hand for 6/12 pack.

NO dont do it! its crap. i've heard so many ppl have issues with it and has cost a ton of money to get it fixed. SES lights come on and its a complete mess. Think about what you would be doing. If you are uncertain run it by your dealer and see what they say

Wow, wtf are you talking about? There have been many on E90post alone that have have done it successfully...not to mention on many other vehicles. I did it on mine, worked fine...don't know if it made a difference, but it sure didn't hurt it.
Its easy, just unhook the DV line from the manifold, hook up your own (I got from Napa) to suck up the seafoam...then have someone else in the car keep the revs to about 2500rpm while you stick the hose in the seafoam can for a second or two at a time. That's it Oh and you will be covering the neighborhood in white smoke, but its supposed to do that. |

A buddy of mine did that and he had no issues. I think he even let his girlfriend rev the car. That's probably the worst thing that happened to the car. Quote:

i know alot of people who have done it plenty of times, with no problems, but they didnt have the high tech sensors that the bmw does, but i still dont see any issues, you would have to pull the vaccuum line off thats next to the air box behind the oil filter and run the car while slowly letting the vaccuum suck up the seafoam, its very important to do it slowly or you can hydroloc the engine, also there is going to be alot of smoke coming out of your exhaust, so you are gonna piss off the neighbors lol

I just youtubed it. It doesn't seem like a very warranty safe thing to do. Have BMW do it so you don't get screwed.
