Non run flats on the e92

Hi,
I'm awaiting a delivery of 335d end of Octorber. I currently drive a 535d. Since the begining I have replaced the Run Flat tyres with non run flats. The difference in the ride quality, road noise and road holding was/is amazing it is a different car. Now, I will get 18 inch wheels on my 335d. I want to replaqce them with non run flats Continetal SportContact 2/3. Do you guys know if the BMW OEM E90/92 wheels can take non run flat tyres? Did anybody do it on their E90?

Thanks,
Wlodek

There are plenty of people that did away with the RFT's but keep in mind that you may lose some of the performance with the RFT's. I think for the normal driver you will not notice and only enjoy the softer rider fo the car with less rigid tires. As far as swapping your OEM tires, you need to take that up with the dealer and see. You could always sell the tires here. Why do you want the Conti's versus something like Mich PS2's?

E90/92 runflats are way better than the ones on the 5 Series, so why not try them out first

I did test drive the 335i yesterday. The ride is hard, and road noise is very loud. Maybe runflats are better than on the 5 series, but they are still "bad" on the 335.

Well, on the 535d I did not notice any performance loss at all, to the contrary, it got quieter, breaking better, perfect road holding etc. To be fair, I did drive on the Run Flats for a week at the most. What I seem to have gained is far more that a potential (and possibly unnoticable performance loss), and boy do I drive the 535d hard!!

Why Conti's, well I got them on the 535d and they are near perfect! I have looked at Michelin web site and can not find a tyre with SP2 in its name, the recommended tyre for BMW coupe is Michelin Pilot Sport. Can you give me some more info on the "SP2". Additionally, I still need to know if the original BMW wheels can accomodate non run flats, as they supposedly have extra lip/groove especially for the run flats.

Thanks for your help,

Wlodek
