Helix BOV: Installed!!!

I was going back and forth inbetween a BOV and finally found the perfect solution. I have been a fan of the Helix BOV for a while and finally pulled the trigger.

The Kit: Very straight forward. Came with both the BOV's, Rubber tubing, Rubber Caps, Clamps, and a plastic Y-Hose.

Installation: Pretty easy. The instructions (online) called for yanking both the Diverter Valves and Tubing and capping off the ends and clamping them. Well, Since I have an Injen intake and it covered the charge pipe and diverter valves completely I just yanked the diverter valves altogether, unplugged the vacuum likes, and capped off the diverter valves where they went into the charge pipe.

I then zip tied the capped diverter valves off to the side. This way if I need to bring the car into the dealer for warranty work all I have to do it pull out the helix bovs, un-cap the diverter valves, stick them back in, and reinstall the vacuum lines EASY!! Plus this kit uses the factory charge pipe so it was very simple.

Note: The Helix BOV is in 2 pieces. The pieces were not tightened when I got them and when I installed them and took the car out for a good flogging one of the BOVs separated in half! Took them out and tightened them via an allen tool..

Sound: Awesome sound! I have an auto so when I floor it it releases the BOV sound. Not overly intrusive and does not have that squeal like JDM cars. Very very clean sound. Also, when I give it some gas and hear trhe turbos spool, I let off and the sound is there as well. Over-all great product.

349.99+Shipping

In conclusion: Anyone looking for a BOV that is a direct replacement for the diverter valves then this is your pick!

If anyone is interested in sound clips I can take some. Just need someone that has a youtube account to post it for me. I can post but I am not super computer savvy...

The Helix BOV was designed to run off the stock charge pipe.

Luv the INJEN..Question . Not to be a Killjoy cause I can complete understand the sound Quotient in motoring, Does the Bov on "our n54" motor have any operational value. I recall in the" beginning, "reading that this motor does not need this mode to perform any better.
Is this true and does anyone have any data logging to prove or disprove?
Congrats on the new Bov btw would luv to hear you comin down my street everymorning..

I have done a lot of research on BOV for n54. And it pretty much boils down to that our cars do not benefit or lose anything by having a BOV. This is greatly due to the n54 utilizing a TMAP system instead of a MAF...So in short, there is no performance benefit to the BOV only the noise If you prefer it of course!

Really happy you like the kit... FYI under high boost applications the factory divertors can open up and bleed boost for split second, you can actualy hear this as a double woosh upon fast wot shifting. the helix BOVs stay closed in this instance.

How about the seal between the helix BOV and the Charge pipe, was anything done to improve this seal.

I was hearing rumors that people were leaking boost here and that the stock dv's would pop off, and would leak between the DV and the charge pipe?

-This thing is pretty much the JB+ of BOVs with the ease of installation. Just pull your stock DV's, plug the ends, plug these in, and you're good to go.

Heres a sound clip from youtube to give you guys an idea.
