Noob iPod question

Okay, I promise that I have searched this forum and the internet at large and after reading about 8,000 different write-ups, my brain is beginning to hurt. Here's my situation: I am looking at purchasing a 2006 330i with navigation. I would like to be able to hook up my iPod and control it using iDrive and the steering wheel controls.

So far, I think I've found three options: the 6FL interface, the Dension Gateway 500, and the Dice iPod integration kit. I understand that because the car I'm looking at was built prior to 03/07, that the 6FL kit won't work on it. My question with respect to the other two options (or any other options I'm not aware of) is: will either of them allow me to navigate through my iPod menus using iDrive? Ideally, I would be able to use iDrive just as if I were using my iPod: i.e., I would be able to scroll though artists, select one and then scroll through albums, select one and then scroll through songs. However, I'd also settle for being able to scroll through all my albums using the iDrive wheel. (I don't want to just have to hit "next" or "previous" and load each album one at a time because it can take forever to get to an album that begins with a letter in the middle of the alphabet.)

If anyone can enlighten me, I would be very appreciative.

Get an OEM Ipod adapter. That is what I did. Probably the best way to do it in my opinion.

Thanks for the info. I think that definitely sheds some more light on the subject.
